Calgary Stampede Event Entertainment

Let’s set the scene and travel back in time to two different Stampede events that we provided entertainment for.

The first event was a family festival style outdoor gathering with multiple interactive entertainment stations including trick ropers, K-9 dog show, a petting zoo, face painters, western themed games, Calgary fiddlers, craft stations, bounce houses, and a hip hop dance performance. 

The trick ropers performed and the k-9 show drew crowds as the audience experienced acts of agility like running through tunnels, obstacles, bridges, and see-saw type apparatus. The petting zoo included fun farm animals, and face painters created works of art including classic designs and Stampede themed paintings. 

The western themed games were a huge hit for crowds of all ages and included games like bean bag games, milk can toss, bottle ring toss, and more. A well known local string band, the Calgary Fiddlers, took to the stage and wowed guests with a showcase of their upbeat fiddle music.

The craft stations were the perfect activity for kids and had options to create sheriff badges, leather bracelets, and even a specialty bandana. Bounce houses are always a crowd favourite and a hip hop dance rounded out the show. 

The second event was designed for adults and boasted plenty of performances on the main stage. We organized a headliner band, DJs, and Indigenous elements, such as presentations from elders and pow wow dancers.

Our team loves to brainstorm and come up with ideas that make your event entertainment unique and engaging. We can provide many different entertainment options outside of the norm, including mini chuckwagon races, tipi building contests, gun firing tricks, and so much more. 

Mini chuckwagon races are a huge hit amongst anyone who has tried them! They require 4 team members; a driver, 2 “horses” and a brakeman. Each heat needs 12 players to run off. We provide wagons, a commentator, and an official. This is a game your guests will not forget. 

Tipi building contests are a fun and engaging challenge that encourages competition. We organize teams to compete against each other to see who can correctly erect tipi poles and have them remain standing! We provide all of the materials and an official game attendant. 

Gun tricks are the perfect way to tie back to the wild west. Guns of the Golden West Association will demonstrate a variety of skills, such as fast draws, trick shooting, and gun handling in various forms. Guests are invited to participate and learn how to load and fire 1880’s single action firearms, engage in balloon shooting (blanks only used), use of bull and stock whips, and fancy gun spinning and handling. 

We can even organize popular characters, such as saloon girls and other western-themed performers to attend your event. You might even like to hire a bum sketch artist!
